A few days ago a friend sent me a report about his experiences with a site called Stumbleupon. I had heard of it before but never had the time to check it out, well am I glad I did! I am now addicted!Basically Stumbleupon is a social bookmarking site with a difference, you get a toolbar to install for Firefox or IE which has a Stumble button and a load of other options. When you join Stumbleupon you are asked to fill out a kind of questionnaire coving all the things you like, i.e. what sort of music, films etc..With this information Stumbleupon will supply you with random website it thinks you will be interested in which have been chosen by other Stumblers when you press the stumbleupon button in your browser. You can the press the thumbs up button if you like it, or the thumbs down if you don’t. All of these selections are added to your Stumbleupon page here is mine Stumbleupon. If you go to a site you like just press the thumbs up button and its added to your page.So I can here you saying well I can do that in my browser anyway… well yes you can but with Stumbleupon you can access your links anywhere and the random “Stumble” button is utterly mesmerizing, I’ve wasted hours, well I say wasted they were highly enjoyable journeys into areas of the web I’d never had thought of going with just my mind and Google.I highly recommend signing up and Stumbling upon some wicked websites :)

Children Of Men - A Bloody Fantastic Film

Simon | Films | Sunday, July 1st, 2007

For the last six months or so we have been subscribed to the Tesco DVD rental service and this week we got Children Of Men. I had never heard of it before, my Girlfriend put it on the list a while back and its a film I knew nothing about. To start of with, i ask my girlfriend “who’s in it?” she replies, errr I think its Tom Hanks…. So all the way through the film I was thinking, so when’s Tom Hanks coming into this??? Turns out she had glanced the picture on the DVD as she put it in the machine and thought it was Tom Hanks :) Turns out it was actually Clive Owen :)

Children Of Men is A Bloody Fantastic film, within five mins I was loving it. Its set in and around London in 2027 in a time when every woman in the world have mysteriously become in-fertile and the youngest person in the whole world is 18. It is filmed using really long takes and this really ads to the realism. Its a Gritty and in places Brutal film, with a vision of the future that is very believable and Chaotic. Staring Clive Owen, Michael Caine & Julianne Moore, Children Of Men is a film I absolutely loved, its great when you watch a film you know nothing about and it turns out to be fantastic! Definitely two thumbs fresh :)
